An Indian Computer support and services company are working with multiple companies across the UK to supply new ICT equipment for their offices. This company approached Puffin Solutions via the web to ask for support in the UK from an installation and configuration aspect.
They required a team of specialist engineers to be available at 48 hours’ notice to attend various sites over several months to install equipment into their clients various comms rooms. Puffin Solutions submitted a price for the work and won the business due to our flexibility and highly experienced staff and on demand engineers.
The Project Scope
Before the project could take place, Puffin Solutions assisted the support company in preparing for all installations, including installing software onto our engineering laptops and preparing equipment for mounting in racks.
Puffins team then developed a standard pack of equipment that would be needed for each installation and once contacts and dates were set, Puffin attended the installations.
Each installation having slightly different equipment and requirements required the engineering team to think quickly on their feet through any potential issues. Including inspecting damages and checking site connectivity. Once equipment was installed, they would then liaise with the global support team to assist with configuration of each unit. Once configuration is completed, each site was signed off to a high standard.
Reports for each install was then submitted to the support team for approval.
The overall project was a huge success, with installations continuing across the UK throughout 2017.
Various issues on site from connectivity to accessibility required quick thinking. Puffin managed to complete all installations in the allotted time frames with fantastic feedback from the various clients.
The equipment provided and installed on this project included servers, switches, modems and routers.
