The Project
As part of their global expansion this client was looking to create a number new data centres around the world.
With each data centre is built to specific design requirements for power and data. The first step in the installation is ensuring that the existing containment is available to support both the proposed new power and data.
Once the containment is in place the power and data cabling is installed to supply the hardware installed to provide the services.
Puffin was invited to deliver this work for the client within their facility in Holland thanks to our experience of installing both power and data within data centre environments. The first phase of the work involved ensuring that the containment was in place to accommodate both the power and data Infrastructure.
As the containment was built, it was realised that the power infrastructure needed extended to accommodate the needs of the new facility. This involved installing new sections of Siemens 2500 amp bus bar. Finally there was the installation of the structured cabling which had to be installed to demanding standards.
Before commencing the work it was necessary to complete an in depth site survey to confirm the requirements. Once these requirements were identified and agreed a team was deployed to site to complete the following works.
Working in a very demanding environment and to some of the tightest time scales to date with the project changing and evolving all the time, Puffin Solutions managed to meet all deadlines and still achieve the high standards required by the customer.
